This workshop will teach both Fitness Trainers and the Fitness enthusiast how to estimate BMR and determine caloric expenditures vs consumption.  Nutrition has been proven to be one of the most important components of a Health and Fitness program.  With so many myths and opinions in the industry compiled with the different metabolic conditions related with the human body, it is in the best interest of anyone who wants to achieve their best results to learn every possible aspect of nutrition. 

 

Objectives:

1- Assess Caloric needs

2- Identify detrimental eating habits

3- Learn how to read a food label

3- Prepare personal nutrition plan based on goal

 8:30 –  9:00                Sign in

 9:00 – 10:30               The Nutrients

10:30 – 10:45              Break

10:45 - 12:30               Metabolism of Nutrients

12:30 –  1:30               Calculating BMR and Energy Expenditure

 1:30 –  2:45                Reading a Food Label & Interpreting Health

                                    Claims

 2:45 –  3:00                Break  

 3:15 –  4:00                Eating VS Drinking your foods

 4:30 –  5:30                Creating your meal plan

 

Take Home Assignment to be turned in for course completion:

  • Determine Goal
  • Keep Food Log for 7 consecutive days
  • Turn in Food Log via E-Mail, Regular Mail, or Fax @954-446-0216

 

Specialty Certificate of Completion "Meal Planning Councelor"  (Goal Based Meal Planning) is awarded upon completion
